My Story
I grew up not really knowing what I wanted to do. Like a lot of people, I moved through different phases of life trying to figure out where I fit, what I was good at, and what actually felt meaningful to me. What stayed constant through all of it was animals — not just as pets, but as beings that deserve patience, understanding, and respect.
When I was little, I grew up on a small farm helping my mom. I joined 4-H, where I trained and showed dogs and earned a first-place ribbon in dog showmanship. Through high school, I volunteered at an animal shelter, learning firsthand how much care, consistency, and compassion animals truly need. After graduating, I worked as a kennel attendant at a doggy daycare, where I earned Dog Handling 101 and 201 certifications and gained hands-on experience in dog behavior and safe handling.
That path eventually led me to pursue my grooming certification. Once I completed my training, I worked toward building something of my own — investing in a grooming trailer and making the move to Brookings, Oregon, where I started Stellar Tails Grooming.
I built this business around one-on-one care because it allows me to truly focus on the dog in front of me. No rushing. No assembly-line grooming. Every appointment is intentional, paced to the dog’s comfort, and centered on safety, trust, and long-term well-being.
As my experience has grown, so has my vision. I don’t just want to groom — I want to teach, mentor, and help raise the standard of care within my community. I’m passionate about education, connection, and creating meaningful opportunities for collaboration and outreach — especially in a small town where community matters deeply.
The growth and support I’ve experienced within this community so far is something I’m incredibly grateful for, and I’m excited to continue building what’s next. If you’d like to follow along as Stellar Tails grows and community projects take shape, you’re always welcome to connect with me on Facebook at Stellar Tails Grooming.
